Enteroscopy
Not long ago, the small intestine was an unexplored frontier in GI endoscopy. New developments in enteroscopes have opened up this region of the GI tract but it remains a difficult organ to access. Small bowel enteroscopy is a technically challenging procedure often requiring much time.
The Endo-Ease® Endoluminal Advancement System is a significant innovation in flexible GI endoscopy. This revolutionary over-tube system enables physicians to perform flexible endoscopy procedures more efficiently.
Antegrade enteroscopic introduction with the Endo-Ease Discovery SB helps to advance compatible enteroscopes beyond to Ligament of Treitz – the fixed portion of small bowel within the abdominal cavity. Rotation of the Discovery SB beyond the Ligament of Treitz, allows a spiral to pleat the segment of the small bowel where disease is most commonly found.
The Endo-Ease Discovery SB lets you independently maneuver the enteroscope if needed while it remains in place.
The Endo-Ease Discovery SB can be paired with your existing enteroscopes measuring up to 9.4mm OD. The product is a single use device sterilized for convenience and safety.
Lower GI Endoscopy
Changing the Boundaries of Retrograde Endoscopies
The Endo-Ease Vista® Retrograde is an innovative over-tube system that helps physicians overcome challenging colonoscopies and enables efficient intubation of the terminal ileum, so ileoscopy can be performed with ease.
Pushing a colonoscope through a long, floppy colon can be a difficult task. During colonoscopy, patients with this type of anatomy can contribute to excessive looping of the endoscope, which may result in an incomplete exam. Rotating the Vista Retrograde’s unique spiral helps physicians guide the endoscope and reduce the colon as the device makes its way through the bowel.
Difficult colonoscopies needn’t be further complicated by piecemeal polypectomy. With an Endo-Ease Vista Retrograde the endoscope can be used to remove large polyps through the Vista, while it remains in place to maintain position in the bowel.
The endoscope can be advanced or removed without altering the over-tube’s position. This feature allows the endoscope to pass through the terminal ileum for performing ileoscopy. The Vista Retrograde acts to stabilize the colon while the endoscope is advanced with little effort.
Discover this powerful platform technology for yourself. Master challenging colonoscopies and perform ileoscopies with ease.
Urology
The US market for urological devices is valued at over $1.6 billion annually. The Uro-Ease® product family currently under development will incorporate our endoluminal advancement system —a rotate to advance technology— on tools currently used to access urological lumens. Uro-Ease designs will aim to reduce patient trauma and discomfort, simplify insertion techniques for clinicians and patients in various settings.
Future Markets
Spirus Medical is developing an endoscope with an integrated, powered spiral that will revolutionize endoscopy. Integrating our platform rotate-to-advance technology onto flexible endoscopes will break the barriers limiting endoscopy today. Spirus Medical developed a true platform technology with the Endoluminal Advancement System. By using a spiral on the leading end of various tubular devices, we believe diagnostic and therapeutic tools can be advanced into anatomical lumens easier and with less trauma and discomfort for the patient. Other developments are being directed at the gynecological markets such as fallopian tube access for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Many anatomical lumens are accessed by clinicians for various reasons and we are seeking out those areas that can be improved with our unique technology.
